Introduction  To  Drawing

This module introduces the fundamental principles of idea development, visual communication, and visualisation. The exploration of various drawing conventions, established knowledge, and its application in the construction business, such as door, window, ceiling height, and others, is beneficial to students. It is a course that introduces students to various drawing approaches and helps them develop their drawing abilities. By the end of the semester, students will be able to accurately translate drawings, utilising the proper tools for measurement, dimension, and scale. Students will be able to read and understand a technical drawing for architecture. The ability for students to use their imagination and creativity when exploring and designing a space or area is the most significant.

Journey throughout this module

In this module, I learnt the fundamental of drawing conventions used in the industry of construction as well as drawing principles, elements, and techniques. It helps me realise how crucially vital accurate drawings are to the final result of a building as it requires more than just pencil and ruler to create such as t-square, scale ruler, compass and etc. My drawing abilities, visual communication, and ability to translate 3D spaces to 2D orthographic drawings all improved throughout this semester. In addition, I consider myself very lucky to have Mr. Akmal as my lecturer, who helped me through this module. The journey is meaningful & memorable and it will undoubtedly be useful to me in the future.
